Training and education

The Foundry: a video course site that does more than play the video

The Foundry is a video course platform we built with the features ordinary course sites leave out. Pause any lesson and it recaps what was just covered and what comes next, with the exact commands for the learner's own computer ready to copy. Learners ask questions in plain words and land on the exact moment in any course where the answer is shown. Finishing a course opens direct help from the instructor, and a studio lets the instructor record, edit, chapter and transcribe lessons and host live sessions. It suits anyone who teaches by showing: trades and safety training, companies onboarding their people, and creators with a craft.

The Foundry: a video course site that does more than play the video: the working demo

Teaching by showing, made searchable

The hard part of learning from video is finding the moment you need. Every lesson in the Foundry is chaptered and transcribed, which is what lets a learner ask in plain words and land on the exact spot.

Built from our own builds

The demo catalog is our own work: whole platforms built start to finish on camera, with the real clock running.

How it works

  1. A catalog that shows what you get

Each course is one complete project, recorded start to finish, with what it covers and how long it really runs.

A catalog that shows what you get
  2. Pause anywhere and it knows where you are

Pause and the lesson recaps what was just covered and what comes next, with the commands for the learner's own computer ready to copy.

  3. Ask in plain words, land on the moment

Learners ask a question the way they would ask a person, and the answer points to the exact moments in every course where it is shown.

  4. Finish, and the instructor is there

Learners go at their own pace, and finishing every lesson opens direct help from the instructor for a real blocker.

  5. A studio for the instructor

Record a session, edit it, turn it into chapters and a transcript, and host live sessions with learners.

Questions people ask

How is this different from a normal course site?

A normal course site plays the video. The Foundry knows where each learner is in it: it recaps on pause, hands them the right commands for their computer and answers questions by jumping to the exact moment it was taught.

Are the build times in the demo real?

Yes. Each course in the demo catalog is one of our own builds, recorded start to finish, and the times are the real recorded times.

Can you build a course platform like this for our training?

Yes. We build it around your lessons, your equipment and your people. Book a fit call.
